About Grayle

Grayle James is a 20 year resident of Sugar Land in Fort Bend County. She is married to David and has three children: Kendrice, Kendrick and Kathrin. All of Grayle and David's children are graduates of Fort Bend ISD schools.

Grayle graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1985, with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. She continued her education at California State University, Bakersfield and received her secondary teaching credential in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. She taught physics and chemistry for several years before moving overseas with her family.

Grayle is currently serving her second term on the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees. While serving as a member of the Board of Trustees, her accomplishments include:
- president for two consecutive years;
- served as assistant secretary;
- integral part of developing core beliefs;
- involved in the hiring of Dr. Charles Dupre as Superintendent;
- delivery of the 2014 bond projects on time and on budget;
- groundbreaking for construction of the new CTE center;
- technology infrastructure upgrade;
- new, updated curriculum for all core courses and
- implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS)to name just a few.

She served in many other volunteer positions for FBISD including PTA/PTO President at Lakeview Elementary, First Colony Middle School, Kempner High School and on several district wide committees including the discipline and health advisory committees.

Grayle is also a member of The Junior League of Houston,a volunteer on the Fort Bend Cares Grant Committee. and spent over 10 years of coaching softball with Sugar Land Girls Softball Association.
